Erling Haaland’s Goal Sent City A Point Off The Top In Premier League
Man City vs. Brentford: The 1-0 victory of Manchester City over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium put an end to any doubts regarding Erling Haaland’s goal-scoring ability. The game’s lone goal, scored by Haaland, dropped them one spot behind Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings. Due to the outcome, Pep Guardiola’s team now has an equal number of games played against both Liverpool and Arsenal. They currently have 56 points, one more than the Gunners have at this juncture. Brentford, however, is struggling in 14th position and just five points above the relegation zone.
To put things in perspective, concerns were expressed about the Norwegian’s play, particularly in light of the way he wasted nine opportunities during City’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea. He did, however, score a wonderful goal during the game to bring his total to 17 goals. In the 71st minute of the contest, he executed a brilliant dash to latch onto a through ball from Julian Alvarez and stroked it past Kristoffer Ajer in what proved to be the game-winning effort. Subsequently, Haaland faced keeper Mark Flekken one-on-one, which he easily won.
