The Redmi Pad SE and Redmi Buds 5A, two of Xiaomi’s newest products, were released for the Indian market under the Redmi sub-brand. The brand Xiaomi aims to provide low-cost, high-feature gadgets, as seen by the unveiling of these new devices at the ‘Smarter Living & More’ launch event. Let’s examine these new devices’ intricacies.
Display and Designs
The Redmi Pad SE has a unibody construction and a high-end aluminum alloy metal case. The gadget may be held securely because to the superb grip provided by the matte-finish back panel.
Moreover, it resists stains well. There are three color options for the tablet: mint green, lavender purple, and graphite grey. The latter is our review unit. To produce stereo audio, the device has four speakers—two on each side (landscape configuration). A Dolby Atmos sound system is used to adjust the speakers.
Although the Redmi Pad SE has a tiny profile (7.36 mm), the manufacturer has managed to include a 3.5mm audio port, a feature that is becoming increasingly uncommon in tablets these days. With a weight of 478g, it is lightweight and portable.
It has an 11.0-inch full HD screen on the front with a refresh rate of 90 Hz thanks to AdaptiveSync. Its maximum brightness is 400 nits. In the video toolbox, there is also a unique function called Reading Mode 3.0. When reading e-books, it has the ability to activate a paper-like texture on the display. To prevent eye strain, users can read novels for extended periods of time without experiencing strain on their eyes by significantly reducing blue light emission and darkening the screen.
Camera hardware
There is a 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera on the gadget. Typically, users scan papers and convert them to PDFs using a tablet’s camera for productivity purposes rather than using it to snap pictures. However, they are dependent on outside apps. Therefore, Xiaomi included a document scanner inside the built-in camera app, freeing up space for other essential programs. The camera can also record at 30 frames per second (fps) in high definition (720p). For video calls, this is more than sufficient.
Snapdragon Processor
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core device, which powers the new Redmi Pad SE, has an 8,000mAh battery, 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage. It is possible to use a microSD card to increase the memory up to 1TB. MIUI 14, an Android-based OS, is used on the device.Several functions are optimized for the large screen of the tablet. The floating window and split screen are two important characteristics. With the aid of these practical features, users will be able to multitask on tablets more easily.
Later this year, HyperOS, which runs on Android 14, is confirmed to be released for the Redmi Pad SE. The gadget has adequate power to perform regular chores like opening and closing multiple apps, web browsing, binge-watching movies and TV shows on OTT apps, and participating in video calls without any problems. However, the performance of the device when playing games must be evaluated. Check back next week for the complete review.
Battery
The Redmi Pad Se comes with an exceptional 8000mAh (typical) power capacity. This long-lasting battery is designed to eliminate any power-related worries while you’re traveling, watching videos, or attending online meetings. It offers an impressive standby time of up to 43 days. When it comes to music playback, the Redmi Pad Se can keep the tunes going for up to 219 hours. Additionally, it can support up to 14 hours of continuous usage, making it a reliable companion for your daily needs.
